Ethiopia Roba Natural Gold Label
Fruit forward dry-process Ethiopian coffee. If I'm looking for a coffee, those are the only words I need to get me to try it. I love the complexity of Ethiopian coffees. I love the fruitiness of a good dry process, and I love the chocolate finish. This new coffee is a great way to finish the year. If I could describe this one in a single word it would be SWEET! A big bodied, coffee with notes of strawberry, (unfortunately it isn't strawberry season, so they didn't make the photo) green apple, and marzipan.
Coffee Production / Farm:
The Roba and Family washing station was established in 2011 as a family venture, along with a 40-hectare plantation (about 99 acres).
To create this natural-style coffee, red cherry is laid out and dried on raised beds. Currently, the station has 250 beds, covered in mess wire; next year, the goal is to increase to 280 beds. The station also has a private warehouse that’s rented out, and a goal of someday establishing a mill as well.
