Tasting Notes:

I have said for years that Ethiopian coffees are my favorites and by and large, that hasn't changed.  It is coffees like this that are what keep bringing me back to this country.  They have a very complex flavor to them that usually draws you to the fruitiness of the coffee.  However,  this one is complex and caramel-like.  A description I usually use for Latin American coffee.  This isn't at all like a Latin American coffee, it's more tea-like, has a rich stone fruit almost mango finish and is more bold than most.  But the over-riding flavor is chocolate and caramel.  I smell a strong brown aroma as the roast is starting to hit its peak.  I wish you could smell that with me, you'd love it. 


Production:

The “Hambela” farm is located in the fertile Oromia regional State, in Yirgacheffe/Guji zone, between the two districts of  Gedeb and Hambela, approximately 477 km (~297 miles) South of Addis Ababa (the Capital of Ethiopia), and 20 km (~12.5 miles) East of Dimtu Town (the capital of Hambela).  You can go to either Google Map, select the satellite view or go to Google Earth and enter the following coordinates, and you will find Hambela: 5°55'05.7"N 38°33'44.9"E
