Costa Rica San Juanillo
This season we were able to get our hands on two coffees from the same farm in Costa Rica. This isn't as unique as the Gold Label Culminate microlot, but it is an amazing Costa Rican coffee in its own right. This is a sweet and rich coffee that is roasted lighter to draw out the amazing cinnamon and orange flavors.
San Juanillo comes from Hacienda El Cuminate, a coffee estate that over the last decade has been rejuvenated by the Bansbach family, which has been in coffee for three generations. (It comes from a different portion of the 60-hectare estate than our El Cuminate Estate microlot.) This coffee was washed and processed in Volcafe’s Beneficio Benesai mill, where it was dried on concrete patios and in mechanical dryers.
