Trending Coffee Taste Test Episode 5 | Shaken Espresso

As a company based in Arizona, we are always looking for ways to enhance our iced coffee drinking experience. For a refreshing iced coffee, you do not have to stick with just coffee and ice or even tonic water to make your coffee special. Cold brew and blended coffee drinks are additional ways to consume coffee cold, but now, you can make a chilled glass of coffee similar to making a fancy cocktail. It is known as a shaken espresso!

In all my years as a coffee drinker, shaking coffee never crossed my mind. The coffee evolution of recent years has blown the doors open to trendy and creative drinks. Like many of the taste test recipes we have tried, this drink is perfect for the summer months and is incredibly versatile. You can keep it simple with just your brewed coffee or espresso of choice and ice, add some delicious flavorings, or even include a splash of milk for a more creamy taste. If you do not have a cocktail shaker, you can also use a jar with a lid or two cups that fit together to form a shaker. Watch our video and discover how easy and delicious it is to drink shaken espresso. Gone are the days of plain old stirring or blending. You only need a shaker, espresso, ice, and a splash of milk if you choose to use it.

Ingredients:

  • Espresso (You can use drip coffee as well)
  • Ice
  • Milk (Optional)
  • Flavoring (Optional)

Steps:

  1. Add ice to a shaker
  2. Add espresso (and flavoring, if desired)
  3. Shake, shake, shake!
  4. Pour shaken espresso and ice into a glass.
  5. Add a splash of milk or dairy alternative, if desired.
  6. Enjoy!
